Vinted has no official image search, so a screenshot is only as useful as the words you can pull out of it. The good news: sellers describe clothes in surprisingly predictable language. This method turns what you can see into what they typed.
When this method works
- The item is clearly visible — not a sliver of sleeve in a mirror selfie.
- You can name at least three attributes: type, colour, and one of material, shape, or hardware.
- The piece is from a brand that exists on the second-hand market (high street, denim, outdoor, and 90s–00s labels are all strong).
The five-step method
- Crop to the item
Zoom until the piece fills the frame. You're building a description, and backgrounds lie — a busy street makes black look grey and suede look velvet.
- Name what you can see
Item type, colour, material, silhouette, and details: hardware colour, collar shape, stitching, closures. Write them down — literally. 'Black leather biker jacket, silver asymmetric zip, cropped.'
- Write the exact search
Combine the four most distinctive attributes in seller order: colour + fit + material + item. Sellers write titles like 'black cropped leather biker jacket' — not 'edgy moto-inspired outerwear'.
- Write the broader search
Swap specific words for their common cousins: leather → faux leather, biker → moto, cropped → short. Drop the least certain attribute entirely.
- Filter, then save
Set category, your size, and a price ceiling. If nothing convincing appears, save the search — the right listing often shows up within days on Vinted's turnover.
A worked example
Say your screenshot shows a black leather biker jacket worn over a floral dress — silver zips, boxy cut, sits at the waist. Here's the recipe:
black cropped leather biker jacket silver zip
black moto jacket faux leather short
kids, men, costume, print
Run the exact query first. If you get under ten results, loosen one word at a time — not all at once.
Common mistakes
| Mistake | Why it fails | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Searching how you'd describe it | You say 'edgy oversized jacket'; the seller wrote 'zara biker L'. | Use plain seller words: colour, cut, material, item. |
| Starting too broad | 'Black jacket' returns 40,000 listings and you'll scroll past her. | Start exact, then loosen one attribute at a time. |
| Over-filtering on day one | Category + brand + size + colour + price can filter her out over one wrong guess. | Filter only what you're sure of; keep brand out until confirmed. |
| Giving up after one session | Vinted inventory turns over daily; she may simply not be listed yet. | Save the search and let it work while you don't. |

If your screenshot came from TikTok, the creator's pinned comments and caption often name the brand — check before you search. Full walkthrough in How to find TikTok outfits on Vinted.
Can I reverse image search Vinted directly?
Vinted doesn't offer image search. Generic reverse image tools find the retail product, not second-hand listings. The practical path is turning the image into seller vocabulary — or letting the Vinted Finder app do that step automatically from the screenshot.
What if the screenshot is blurry or the item is partly hidden?
Search what you're certain of and drop the rest. Three confident attributes beat five guesses. Colour and item type are usually reliable even in bad screenshots; material and brand are where blur misleads.
How do I know if a result is actually the same item?
Compare fixed details, not styling: hardware colour, seam placement, pocket shape, lining. Sellers photograph flat or on hangers, so ignore how it's worn and match construction.

The honest bit: Vinted Finder is an independent app that helps you search for second-hand listings on Vinted. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by Vinted. You browse and buy on Vinted itself. Listings change fast — price, condition, and availability live on Vinted, and exact matches are never guaranteed.
